Anna St George
Anna studied at Limerick School of Art and Design where she completed A.T.C. and P.T.A. exams. She went on to teach at L.S.A.D for a number of years where John Shinnors was one of her students. He acknowledged her influence when opening one of his earlier exhibitions. Jack Donovan was Anna’s mentor for a long time and his influence can be seen in Anna’s work the strong contrasts of light and shade which is a feature of her paintings.
Anna has been a full time painter for twenty years, and has had a number of solo exhibitions which were opened by such eminent people as Michael D. Higgins, and Dr Paul O Connell of rugby fame Anna has both private and corporate clients, and has shipped paintings all over the world, including Paris, New York ,Munich, London, and Dubai .
She is a long time visitor to west Clare, and for those who miss the power of the Atlantic & the Cliffs of Kilkee when they can’t see them in person, her paintings evoke memories of both and a Joy to have on your walls.
